Released in 1967, this album was the first commercial release to feature Robert Moog’s then new now famous Moog synthesizer. Fortunately for this album, the synthesizer is not dominating and instead compliments the wide range of instruments used.
The album progresses through the twelve signs of the zodiac hypnotically illustrating each through various musical devices with the hallmark accompaniment of a unique narrative of spoken word.
This album truly has it’s own place in time and space, being a most original artifact demonstrative of the era from which it came. Without a doubt, it is among the most “far out” psychedelic rock albums in my collection.
